What does
Certified Coaches Alliance do?
Founded in 2004, as an institute of management,
the Certified Coaches Alliance found its roots in the development of a specialized services designed to track the yearly renewal process of certified coaches within our affiliation.
These individual coaches are either affiliated by choice to have the CCA
represent their certification or by affiliation as a graduate of a school of
coaching affiliated with our service.
As stated
above, the CCA is formally charged with the primary obligation of maintaining and updating the records of graduates of affiliated schools of coaching while processing and maintaining online Certification Authentication Links for each
affiliated coach entrusted to our charge.
In forming the "Alliance," we dedicate our efforts to building strong bonds
between educational bodies who share our common goals and in supporting individuals who are currently mentored by coaches who are affiliated with the CCA.
The CCA is available to respond to requests for further information regarding any coach entrusted to our charge, to authenticate credentials and to provide support and backup to the affiliated coaches worldwide.
As an independent accreditation body, the CCA offers an accreditation process to individuals developing program outlines that may be outside of the mandate of other accreditation bodies.
In forming the 'Certified Coaches
Alliance,' we dedicate our efforts to building strong bonds between educational
bodies who share our common goals and in supporting individuals who are
currently mentored by the coaches who belong to Certified Coaches Alliance.
Is
accreditation of a program a must?
There are many
accreditation bodies scattered throughout the world, all of
which uphold much the same standard of training and coach
performance and all are privately owned and operated, however,
all uphold relatively the same standards and code of ethical
standards.
Accreditation is different from certification
and it is important that everyone understands that difference.
Accreditation can be applied to programs - however - not to
persons. Programs are accredited through a body that undertakes
the careful review of the program to ensure that the program
meets the highest of standards as recognized within the coaching
community itself. Persons graduating from a school of coaching
that provides an accredited program, become "Certified" as a
coach through that school of coaching.
Although the accreditation of a
program is not considered a necessity as such, the accreditation
process in and of itself, assures prospective students that the
coach they are considering hiring has undertaken at least a
minimum of training involving the eleven core
competencies and ethical standards recognized and adopted by
most worldwide coaching organizations. It
is noteworthy to mention that most prospective clients are savvy
enough to ask if the prospective coach of choice has completed
any training leading to coach certification.
Is there any
one coaching model that I must adhere to as an affiliated coach of the CCA?
Absolutely not. We firmly
believe that the face of coaching is an ever-evolving
profession. We do not favor any particular coaching model over
another. We encourage our affiliated coaches to continue to develop his or
her discipline as they so choose based on their particular
background, strengths, interests and specialty niche'.
Are there any
ongoing associated alumni costs to becoming an affiliated coach
of the CCA?
It is imperative that every
coach maintain an ongoing relationship with their certification
body. The C.C.A. provides a Certification Document and it is
good for life, however, renewable yearly (each year a newly
signed and sealed document is sent via the post). Re-certification
costs are paid yearly in the amount of $25.00 or $30.00 USD
dependant upon the documentation the individual wishes to
receive. This renewal process permits the CCA to accurately keep
open the file of those coaches still in practice, while closing
the file of those coaches who are retiring their document or who
have become deceased over past year.
Can I become
affiliated of the CCA without graduating from coach specific
training?
At this time, affiliation is
open to graduates of an affiliated school of coaching, or to
individuals who can show documentation of graduation from any
recognized school of coaching. The same yearly renewal process
applies to all affiliated coaches.
Is there
anyone I can direct further questions to?
We maintain a small
Volunteer Staff that assists our Advisory to maintain the
day-to-day functioning of the CCA office. If you have specific
questions about the CCA or its services, please
